We booked four rooms for family members attending my mom’s funeral. We could swim and had pizza delivered for a family gathering the night before the funeral; the pool water was tested while we stayed, so we knew it was safe. The rooms were clean and the staff went out of their way to help with trash from the pizza boxes and let us use the breakfast room at night.

The hotel’s proximity to the State Park is a plus. However, the room smelled strongly of wet carpet and mildew, had hair on the shower walls, water damage around the tub, an empty minibar, and a refrigerator set to warm.

The staff were friendly, but the hotel was advertised as a 4‑star property, which feels misleading. A nearby train woke me several times during the night.

Everything was great. Sandra is wonderful and keeps an excellent breakfast bar; she’s sweet and hardworking. The other staff members are also very nice and accommodating. The AC unit in the room is only okay.

I love this place. The AC unit left the room hot.
