We picked this hotel for the balcony view from the suite and it truly lived up to the hype – the scenery is stunning. The positives are hard to top: the balcony view, the spotless interior, massive beds with huge blankets, and a fantastic Daikin air‑conditioner that finally doesn’t disturb sleep with noise or cold. On the downside, the hotel is far out and a taxi to the centre costs twice as much as from there, breakfast is overrated and disappears by 9:30 even though it’s served until 10:00, there’s virtually no soundproofing – the cheapest rooms lack windows and only have a grille on the door, making it worse, the low‑priced rooms also have no ventilation and a damp smell, noisy guests wake at 4 a.m. and shout loudly enough to be heard right next to you, making sleep impossible and no one calms them; they only go to bed after midnight. There are no mosquito nets or fumigators, which are needed in this area, no spa or sauna, and the suites sit directly under the dining room where tables start being moved around 3 a.m., which is just madness.
