Located 100 metres from Brighton's beach and promenade, Hotel du Vin & Bistro Brighton offers boutique-style rooms with plasma TVs and free wired internet. The Laroche tasting room features wines from around the world, while the Bistro du Vin serves local produce on a modern European menu. The Pub du Vin next door offers local ales and unusual beers, near the Brighton Dome and Royal Pavilion.

The place is great for its location, but the rooms look a bit tired.

I booked a quiet room but it was right on the front of the building, so I was woken by people screaming all night. The bed was very comfortable and the location was good, but none of the plugs worked so I couldn’t charge my phone. The step‑down in the shower was slippery and could have caused an accident. I was offered £50 off the bill, which I accepted, but the discount never appeared.

The location is good and the staff are friendly. Nothing else to note.

The venue is only two steps from the beach, the staff are lovely, and the room is magnificent.
