The area is nice, easy to locate, and the staff were friendly. At check‑in, I was told a 7 % card charge would apply, which feels illegal. I’ve visited Vietnam five times and normally see a 3 % charge or none at all; other hotels charged 3 %. I suspect this was a way to add a tip and scam foreigners. I withdrew cash from an ATM and paid about 5 % in international fees instead. The room was also much smaller than I expected.

The welcome was warm, the location is good, and there are no constant activity solicitations. The place is clean, though the street‑side room is noisy as expected in Hanoi, the double glazing works well, and the air‑conditioning is perfect. Breakfast is very good.
