“Decepción”
The place is very well located if you want to visit Lisbon and Sintra, and the surroundings are beautiful. It’s a large estate with many trees. We stayed in the Acordeón room, which is outside the main house. We had booked a room with a private bathroom, and while the bathroom is indeed private, it’s on the outside so you have to walk around the chapel to get to it. At night, walking in pajamas around the estate is unpleasant. Moreover, the room smelled strongly of damp, was poorly maintained, and didn’t feel clean. Because the bathroom was outside, there were many insects. Additionally, the directions we received were incorrect, so we had to call the provided number to find the room keys. During the three nights we stayed, we saw no one clean the common areas or the room, so everything was quite neglected. We understand this place is meant for group retreats, but for tourists in the area it isn’t the best fit.
“The Silent Place a cocoon in beautiful nature was exactly what I needed on my 70th birthday”
It felt like a sacred cocoon, a healing space, a breathing space. We loved everything!
The place is pleasant, the view is lovely, there’s a fruit orchard with plenty of fruit that we can eat as much as we want. It’s very clean and comfortable, I recommend it.
