Everything was perfect: central spot, tasty breakfast with a wide selection, friendly reception, a clean and spacious room – we felt right at home!

The staff was okay, yet the bathroom was filthy: urine stains on the toilet seat that I had to wipe off, a live cockroach under the shower fittings that scurried away when I entered, and hair covering the sink and mirror – I even snapped photos.

“Love the place except for the toilet need to be checked”

I loved everything: it's quiet and the receptionist is very nice, but I struggled to upload documents and get codes on arrival. The location feels far from the places I wanted to visit, and the most off‑putting thing was the toilet smell leaking through the drainage; I couldn't sleep the first night because it was so strong. After closing the toilet door it got better, but opening it again releases the odor instantly.

“Disappointing”

The only real positive was the room itself: it was nice, bright, and had plenty of natural light. Unfortunately, my experience at Rooftop President Budapest was disappointing. The check-in and access system is very inconvenient. You cannot simply enter the property you have to call reception and wait for someone to come downstairs and let you in. After checking out, I left my luggage at the property while I went out. When I returned to collect it before going to the airport, nobody answered the doorbell for about 15 minutes. After someone finally answered, I had to wait another 15 minutes for them to come downstairs and let me in. This unnecessary 30-minute delay almost caused me to miss my flight. Another major issue was the temperature. The central heating system was not turned on, and the room was extremely cold. I was freezing during my stay. There was also an unpleasant smell in parts of the property and from the towels. Overall, this felt much more like staying in an Airbnb-style apartment than a hotel, but at hotel-level prices. Considering the access problems, lack of heating, unpleasant smell, and price, I would not choose to stay here again

Very clean and great spot for a night before catching a train at Keleti station, with an amazing view from the room. However, the check‑in was a nightmare: we had told the hotel we’d arrive late, yet the staff gave us the wrong room details and we discovered it was already occupied by another guest—quite unpleasant. No staff was on site, leaving us to figure out where to stay around midnight after a late flight with luggage. The issue was eventually fixed over the phone, but it was a stressful and uncomfortable start that could have been avoided with clear instructions.
