The lodge was excellent, the breakfast was delicious, the afternoon tea was perfect, the staff were very polite, the pool was great—overall I recommend it.

The staff were very friendly, the place was clean and pleasant, the breakfast was great and they also offered afternoon tea, and it’s close to the main street; everything was fine except the room was a bit tight for four people.

“Agradável”

The lodge is charming and pleasant, the rooms are well kept and nicely decorated, the staff are attentive, it’s a beach‑front property with a peaceful setting, there are two good pool areas, and you can walk to Rua da Xepa, but it’s not very close (about 700 m); the beach in Maceió where the lodge sits has a long stretch of sand (you have to walk a long way to reach the sea) and there’s no tent infrastructure; São Miguel has no app or taxi service, and getting to a better‑structured beach requires long walks; there’s only a motorcycle taxi service (the riders don’t wear helmets) and I didn’t dare use it; you have to rent quad bikes or buggy to move around the beaches if you can’t do long walks under the hot sun.

Read until the end: The location is truly excellent—it’s a real beach‑front spot, close to everything and all services. The breakfast is good, especially for the city’s standard, and the staff are very friendly. The parking is adequate, inside the lodge’s own area. There are three pools. The reception pool (front), tables, chairs, and lawns were spotless. The beach is beautiful, the sand strip is huge and well maintained. There’s a dune in front of the lodge, and the place gave me a strong sense of safety. Those are the main positives. I’ll just mention this now and won’t include any photos of the good side of the lodge. Now, the negatives: Believe it or not, what shows up online put us in a different lodge next door. There are two distinct properties: a good one and a bad one. Everything that appears on the internet exists, is beautiful, well cared for, and attractive. But to our surprise, we were directed to an old lodge next to the one that appears online (on Google Maps, it even lists as Pousada Porto do Trapiá). The structure we found was very, very bad: dirty pools and a deteriorated environment. Note that the Google Maps photos of this lodge seem to be from another time—old ones. The current conditions are deplorable. We felt we booked something and were taken to a totally different place than what’s shown online. That upset us (and honestly, it upset the whole group). Disappointment! From satellite images, you can see it’s two different lodges. The property we stayed at has two old, dirty pools. We were in Chalé 01, and the bathroom was extremely dirty. Absurd! Besides the dirt, many problems: broken items, grout with a lot of mold, lack of water, low pressure, loose outlets, grimy sinks, a completely loose toilet (a risk), a broken towel rack, dirty box and doors/windows. We also saw unidentified insects on the floor, coming out of the sink drain and entering a socket. I can’t confirm the type of insect. A real disappointment. I’ve never seen anything like this on Booking. I think this deserves a physical inspection to prove what I’m saying. My question is: does whoever handles this responsibility not know that users will complain? Notice the photos I posted. We were not staying at the lodge that appears online. We were in the part with a thatch roof next to the property; notice the parking is completely different from what’s shown online. The city and the people of São Miguel do gostoso are excellent.
