The stay was a quick one‑night stop that let us get a good sleep; the place was clean, tidy, and the parking on the property was safe. Having a mini fridge was handy. We ran into a few minor logistical hiccups, but they didn’t spoil the overall experience. The arrival instructions could have been clearer: when we reached the car park behind the pub we didn’t know which room we’d been assigned or what to do next, and texting our ETA didn’t get a reply, so we were unsure if it had gone through. Before you arrive, it would help to confirm your room name and parking location. There were no tea bags, so bring your own, though the room had decent facilities for making a hot drink. The bathroom sink plug didn’t work, the bedside table was too small for two people, hooks by the front door would be useful, and the six scatter cushions take up a lot of space in a small room. The TV remote also wouldn’t change channels from the bed. These were all small annoyances, but a few easy fixes would turn a good stay into a superb one.
