The small rooms made the stay feel personal; we asked for a champagne tasting and received it from owner Gregory, who was very pleasant and personal. The place was very stylish and tidy, a real gem, even better in person than in photos, and breakfast maintained a high standard. The garden was lovely for a glass of champagne. The only downside was that Vertus is a small town, so there isn’t much else beyond champagne to explore.

We booked a two‑night stop on the way back from Brittany. If you want to combine travel with enjoyment, this is the spot. The next day we visited Reims for Pommery, and the cellars there are great; Mailliard’s champagne is clearly superior. Everything was fine!

The family‑run, beautifully restored old house is situated right in the centre of the small town, thoughtfully designed and charmingly furnished. We stayed in one of the super‑large comfort rooms, over 35 qm, and loved it. The bathroom is stunningly modern, a fridge with champagne was offered in the lobby on request, there’s a foosball table, and a spacious garden with a lounge area. Breakfast was delicious and very varied, and the in‑house champagne tasting is highly recommended.

The room was spacious and gorgeous, the reception was extremely friendly, and the champagne was tasty. Nothing else to mention.
