I booked a single room on the third floor—no elevator—in the heart of Barrio Alto, a spot buzzing with nightlife and a wide selection of bars and restaurants. The room was clean, bright, minimal, and pleasant, though it was a single room. The shared bathroom was also very tidy and well maintained. Because the area is so lively, the street noise at night is noticeable if you leave the window open, so if you’re a light sleeper that’s something to consider. Still, the location is ideal for enjoying the atmosphere and staying in a very central spot. Overall, a solid choice for its location, cleanliness, and value. On the downside, the street noise at night is significant, which is expected in Barrio Alto. Closing the window to block it makes the room’s fan quite loud and, at least for me, not cool enough. It was also a bit awkward that my room was separated from the rest; I had one code to enter the room and a different one for the common area and bathroom, so every time I went to the bathroom I had to remember both codes.
