If you enjoy authentic, small‑scale spots, Chateau de Lemps is fantastic. I stayed with my parents and my own family, and we had spacious rooms on the first floor. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, fresh and local. The huge garden had nice seating areas, and there was a nice pool. We really enjoyed it.

A place that’s really interesting and original, stepping away from the usual. The lack of modern equipment, though, is a downside.

The room was huge, even the reception was big, and the answers to questions were almost immediate, plus the flexibility on arrival time. It was quiet when the neighbor’s dogs didn’t bark, and the living/dining area was calm and shaded near the fountain with running water, even though we didn’t use it. It’s hard to get rid of the neighbor’s hunting dogs… but if you close the window you don’t hear them, which is almost essential in the heat, though it stops the cool air from coming in.
