“The Perfect & Unforgettable Oasis!”
Nanzenji Sando Kikusui felt like a sweet dream! The property was far from crowds yet just a few minutes’ walk to the local train station. Everything was spotless, and the garden with its koi pond looked like a vacation in itself. Our spa room was the largest, spacious enough for our family of four, with comfy beds and a sitting area that could fit two floor mattresses. The amenities were generous—plenty of complimentary champagne, drinks, coffee, tea, water, juices, and snacks. The spa bathing area was the highlight: a sauna, sitting bath/pool, shower, and private onsen with a remote‑controlled shutter to the outside. The bathing supplies were great, especially the facial items, and the robes were beautiful. A CD player played soothing piano music throughout the room. We had the included breakfast, choosing between Japanese and American options; both were plentiful and tasty. We skipped the dinner option and ate at different Kyoto restaurants instead. The staff were the best part: they greeted us at the entrance every time we came and left, friendly, welcoming, accommodating, flexible, helpful, and hardworking. We were sad to leave because they felt like family after our perfect five‑night stay. I’d return to Japan just to stay at Nanzenji Sando Kikusui! We all loved this oasis and highly recommend it if you want to splurge.
