The spot right by the zoo is nice and there are plenty of parking spaces, and the restaurant food was good, but the room was tiny. The bathroom door wouldn’t open fully because it hit the single bed, and when you were on the toilet you had the sink over your legs and your feet pushed forward into the shower. Also, there was an open terrace right in front of the room, which left a bad feeling.

It’s a short walk to town with plenty of cafés nearby, and the hotel restaurant features impressive décor and good service.

The room was small but very clean and had air‑conditioning, and the bed was very comfortable. Checking in via an avatar might be modern, but it feels awkward and impersonal. From the front of the room you could hear traffic passing by even with the windows closed, and there is no covered bike storage.

Check‑in was smooth, the staff were helpful, the location was good relative to the zoo and Grebbenberg station, and the breakfast was excellent. However, there was a major issue with room 304: an enormous amount of noise from a fan in another room that couldn’t be resolved despite the staff’s willingness to help. We were moved from a luxury to a cheaper room, number 210, with no refund. Other than that, everything else was satisfactory and the staff, especially Hans Hoogvorst, were friendly and helpful.

The location and outdoor terrace were good, but the room was very small for the price.
