The location was great – the sea was just across the street and the lively avenue had fruit, food, currency exchange, and more. The only downside was that the front desk wouldn’t give me a knife or an iron; an iron was fine, but no knife to cut fruit is baffling.

The hotel is excellent and in a good spot, and the breakfasts are pretty good and varied. Occasionally there were small issues with housekeeping, but overall it was fine.

The place is well situated, with shops, massage parlours and cafés nearby, all at reasonable prices. We booked a room with a balcony – a room without one felt a bit underwhelming. Dogs lived on the opposite floor and barked nonstop one night. At the beach, the loungers were overpriced.

It’s a good three‑star hotel, even great! The rooms come with bathrobes, slippers and good linens. We liked the hotel’s position a bit off the noisy road yet still on the front line. We’re not first‑time guests, and walking to the lotus in the park at night is exactly what we needed. The staff are polite and always ready to help; for non‑English speakers they use a translator, which is clever. Breakfast is adequate – we remember we’re in an Asian country, so don’t expect European dishes. Fresh vegetables in abundance, eggs, soups, hot dishes – basically everything is there.
