“Comfortable accommodation in an interesting setting”

The room was very comfortable and well equipped, the shower was good, the historic house and grounds were interesting, and breakfast was good. Nothing else.

The owners were very friendly. Our laundry was done, drinks were available, and the breakfast was very good for France. The accommodation in the old stone house is nice, the breakfast room in the conservatory and the overall atmosphere are very pleasant.

“Genoten in een prachtig fort!”

The breakfast was excellent, varied and generous. The host was very friendly and even adjusted the dinner time to our preference for an earlier meal. The place was spotless and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The garden was lovely and the house itself stunning. The town of Bar le Duc is fun to explore, and there’s a fantastic bakery just down the street. However, the listing claimed the apartment had two separate bedrooms, but it actually only had one bedroom and a sofa‑bed downstairs. The family owns two large dogs that sometimes lie around and bark, especially at other dogs. There isn’t much to do right around the property; the village itself isn’t very atmospheric.

Nice castle and interior. The hosts were in a bad mood, giving the impression that our privacy was being disturbed. The place was quite untidy, and overall it felt more like a nuisance than a stay.
