The hotel is conveniently close to the airport and the staff were helpful; they let me borrow a hair dryer and even ordered a tuk‑tuk on my phone when I struggled to find a taxi to the airport. However, the bathroom attached right next to the bed has an open ceiling that lets in a lot of outside noise, and the door to the bathroom is warped from humidity so it never closes properly, amplifying the sound—people who are sensitive to noise should steer clear.

The host was very kind and helped us with our late arrival, even arranging a driver for the next morning; it’s a solid spot to rest after a long flight before heading on. The bathroom had a few bugs—mosquitoes and spider webs—though there was a mosquito net and the open roof, but for the price and purpose it was still usable.

We booked the place for the last night before our early flight out of Sri Lanka and the proximity to the airport was perfect, while the outdoor area looked nice and the price justified many shortcomings. Still, the beds were too short for my 1.70 m height, the check‑in felt impersonal, I had to ask for a sheet to cover myself, it was very noisy, and the bathroom reeked of something unpleasant, wasn’t clean—there were hairs in the shower and water droplets all over the ceiling and walls.
