The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which definitely improved the stay. The location is convenient, close to town and easy to get around. There were several problems: the shower barely produced warm water, the bed was quite hard and uncomfortable, and there was only one chair in the room, which felt limiting. There is no on‑site restaurant, so dining options require going out. The hotel’s proximity to a lake also meant noticeable mosquitoes, especially in the evenings.

The little chalet by the lake had a charming veranda where you could watch the sunset; it was very rustic and simple. The only downside was that it was quite far from restaurants or bars, so having a car was necessary.

The receptionist was friendly and pointed us toward a great restaurant. The room was spotless, with clean sheets and towels that smelled pleasant, and the pillows were comfortable. An electric kettle, hairdryer, and a cold fridge were provided, and the air‑con worked almost too efficiently. The balcony overlooking the lake was nice for sitting out, and the shower delivered plenty of hot water at good pressure. Parking was ample and the outside lighting was lovely. We stayed in room 1, booked as a superior king suite, and we had not booked breakfast. However, there were no teabags or sugar—just coffee. The bed felt hard and had a plastic cover over the mattress, making it sweaty. Some switches didn’t work, and a plug socket behind the bed was broken. The shower room had an open gap that let mozzies fly in, which was a bit off‑putting. There were loads of geckos, which we didn’t mind but others might. Overall, it was fine for a night. No beer or soft drinks were available for sale.
