Guest rooms feature free WiFi, cable TV, refrigerator, and tea/coffee-making facilities. The hotel is a 15-minute walk from the National Steinbeck Center and offers a business center, vending machines, and air-conditioned rooms with desks. Monterey Bay Aquarium and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca are nearby.

Location. 1. The staff tried to refuse to check us in because we arrived after 10 pm. There was nothing on our reservation that said there was a 10 pm cut off for checking in. The staff was unpleasant, but when I insisted, she checked us in. 2. Despite the hotel was non-smoking, our room smelled of pot smoke. 3. There was a dangerous 1” unmarked threshold elevation to the toilet/shower room. 4. There was nothing information provided at check-in or otherwise about the included breakfast. There was no one at the desk to ask about it and there was no signage directing where it could be found

The location was good, but the other aspects of the place were disappointing.

The boss’s daughter had a very bad attitude and should be more professional and welcoming. The floors need mopping and the TV isn’t working.

There wasn’t much to praise, but I’m willing to overlook many things. The noise was excessive: the room was next to a staircase with key‑card entry, and people used the stairs at all hours. The guests in the room above had children running around until about midnight, laughing and screaming, and their footsteps sounded like they might fall through the floor. There were also yelling and threats of domestic violence a few rooms down. Housekeeping didn’t show up—perhaps it was a weekend—and I wasn’t informed. I had to go to the office to request fresh towels, and I was told, “let me see if we have any.” Luckily they did.
