I absolutely love this place and I’ll definitely return!
“Amazing stay, love to come back”
The property was fantastic, and I really enjoyed the vibe inside. The traditional backyard is amazing, and the staff are friendly. I met new friends who live here and I’ll come back for a second visit when I can.
It’s a lovely spot with a beautiful garden and house. The complimentary breakfast is a nice touch. It’s a bit far from the nearest train station—about a 15‑minute walk—but the surrounding neighborhood is pleasant for a stroll.
“Casa antigua descuidada”
The garden is gorgeous, but there was a dead cockroach by the entrance next to the slippers. The house is old, which was what we wanted, yet it feels neglected and poorly maintained.

If you’re looking for a peaceful stay in Kyoto, this is it. Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, it felt like home from the moment I arrived. I booked the single room, and it was even nicer than I expected, with a window that lets the beautiful morning light pour into the room. The garden is absolutely beautiful and so tranquil. It’s the perfect place to journal, read, or simply sit and unwind. They also had great local recommendations; like a retro cafe Hisui and a book cafe called Kotoba no Haoto, and both were wonderful spots that I probably wouldn’t have found on my own. There was always a staff member on-site during working hours, and she was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit Kyoto, and hopefully for even longer!
