The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, often joining us for hours of conversation.
The spacious cabin with three bedrooms, kitchen, living area, and private terrace was perfect for our family.
The meals were made fresh from scratch and were truly delicious.

“A fabulous family stay and adventure!”
We stayed at Calico Jack's Resort with two adults and two kids, ages 12 and 9, in a two‑bedroom villa. Each bedroom had its own ensuite; the kids’ rooms had single beds, while the other room featured a king‑size bed. Both bedrooms and the living room were air‑conditioned. The villa came with a small fridge, kettle, microwave, coffee maker (with a bit of coffee), crockery, cutlery, a 5‑gallon water jug that could be refilled free of charge, a TV, and free Wi‑Fi. The resort offered a pool—where hummingbirds feed—an on‑site restaurant with excellent local food, and a range of activities: ziplines, abseiling, jungle swings, jungle walks, and an off‑site cave tubing option. The staff were all fantastic. We did spot a small scorpion under the bed, which added to the adventure; the staff advised us to keep doors shut and to inspect rooms carefully because we’re in the jungle. The pool’s tiles might need replacing soon, but that didn’t affect our enjoyment.
The vibe felt like Indiana Jones, especially if you drive in at night.
“Absolutely love this place and the people that work there”
The adventure location is perfect. We did zip‑lining at the resort, the ATM cave tour was only a 25‑minute drive away, and we visited the 1000‑foot Falls, Caracol, and Tod’s pools—all nearby. The dirt road is rough with bumps and holes, so be prepared. When you’re about to turn back thinking you’re done, just keep going and you’ll find the property beautiful, peaceful, and the people genuinely kind. The only downside is the dirt road.
The location is great, tucked away in nature and feeling private and peaceful. The staff were wonderful, and the zipline tour was a highlight. William and Dennis were excellent guides and I enjoyed chatting with them. The elevator to my room was slow, which I personally disliked; I’d rather use stairs, though others might appreciate an elevator in a jungle hotel.

The location is good, but the road is very bumpy.
