The lodge sits in the Swartberg Mountains, is very stylish and well maintained, offers top‑class dinner, has an excellent manager named Wilhelm, and the open‑topped jeep ride is highly recommended; we saw giraffes, springboks, zebras, and impalas, and one giraffe even appeared right in front of our terrace.

It was absolutely dreamy there. Willem is a fantastic host, the food was the best we ate on our South Africa trip, and the peace, mountains, animals, and cozy rooms had everything we needed; it’s a shame we only booked two nights—we would have loved to stay longer.

A flawless stay highlighted by manager Willem’s excellent service, delicious food, and a setting ideal for a game drive; the large room, bathroom and two terraces were superb, and I would gladly recommend it to anyone.

We stayed there during the winter season and were the only guests. The service was excellent and the staff took care of us wonderfully. The evening menu accommodated our requests and the quality was outstanding. The view of the mountains and the nearby wildlife – giraffes and gnus – was fantastic. The rooms had no heating, but we were provided with electric blankets.
