The pub is very nice and it’s close to where we needed to be for the wedding.

The Fox and Pheasant Inn in Armathwaite offers four-star comfort with private bathrooms, river views, and modern amenities, including fireplaces, tea and coffee makers, and free WiFi in each room. The place is great, the food is nice, the location is lively, and the nights’ sleep is good—would recommend. A minor issue was that the basin water drained slowly; I didn’t mention it before I left, but if they don’t know, how can they fix it?

The food was excellent with local ingredients for breakfast, and there was nothing to complain about.

We were greeted upon arrival and escorted to our room. The staff were all friendly and helpful. In the dining room we ate in the evening, and the menu provided plenty of tasty, well‑cooked pub grub options. The bar had a solid selection of draught ales and lagers. Breakfast was good, though the coffee was limited to filter only. The room was on the small side, and while the en‑suite bathroom offered both a bath and a shower, the water could have been hotter.

The Fox and Pheasant staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The inn’s bedrooms were very comfortable and featured modern en suite bathrooms, along with coffee and tea facilities and a TV. The bar and restaurant offered excellent food and drinks, including a good wine list. Breakfast was comprehensive, offering a range of beverages, fruit juices, cereals, a hot freshly cooked full English breakfast, salmon/poached egg, kippers, Eggs Benedict, and more. If you find yourself starving here, it’s your own fault!
