The building was impressive and the staff friendly, yet the room looked a bit worn, the rug had stains, the room lacked many amenities for such a pricey stay, and breakfast cost £70.00 for nothing special.

The staff were impeccable in service and detail; the air conditioning couldn’t be lowered enough; meal reservations were a mess, with a staff member getting the date wrong on the phone and in email; the bed was clearly two singles pushed together, leaving a raised lump in the middle; the bulbs above the bed flickered; the bathroom looked tired for a five‑star hotel and needed a deep clean; the toilet roll was cheap and nasty; the Bentley was no longer available to take you to Grantley Arms; the carrot juice was ‘out of a bottle’.

Everything was great, with meticulous attention to detail and amazing staff; the only improvement would be better lighting over the bathroom mirror for makeup.
