Breakfast and the evening meal were good, and the bar area was the same. The room had plenty of drawers and hanging space, and there was a lot of coffee and tea available. The accommodation felt somewhat 'tired' and needed a refresh. There was no hot water at 0830 on the second morning.

The owners were incredibly friendly, and the staff were lovely and welcoming; the food was delicious and plentiful, and there was nothing else to complain about.

We enjoyed our stay while attending a wedding nearby; the inn had a charming host, a characterful building, clean sanitary ware, and a clean bed; breakfast was excellent and served promptly. Because of our schedule we didn't dine on site, and dinner is served every evening except Sunday. If you arrive on a Sunday evening you can pre‑order a Sunday Lunch to be set aside for dinner or simply grab rolls at the bar for a light snack.

The pub and restaurant had friendly staff, great beer and food, and live music on Saturday night. However, the beds had very thin, cheap mattresses on a slatted wooden frame, making them extremely uncomfortable, and the boiler in the bedrooms was noisy, disrupting sleep. The shower tap attachment was broken, forcing me to wash my hair in the sink, which was unacceptable. There was no grill pan or baking trays in the cooker; only a foil tray was available, which was unsafe for cooking. The selection of crockery and glassware was sparse, so every meal or tea required washing. I would advise checking the fire extinguisher—its last test was dated 2002—and noting that no evacuation procedures were posted on the wall.
