The view is stunning, right across from the poggi, the room huge with a private onsen, the traditional breakfast excellent, and the location superb next to the lake; it’s a bit pricey but worth at least one night to experience it. It’s advisable to come with a car.

The place was spot on—location, cleanliness, cozy, traditional, and the reception was great. No complaints.

The hotel itself was nice, clean and stylish, with good beds, a nice bathroom, and decent utilities; the shuttle service was also good. The location was very isolated, up a steep hill, and the only thing of value nearby was Oishi Park; the rest of the town is on the opposite side of the lake. The view here is great, but we arrived on a cloudy day so everything looked far away. No kitchen was operating while we were there.

We liked the interior of the rooms—they were spacious. The outdoor bath was great, and it was nice to breathe fresh air on the balcony with a cup of coffee. Unfortunately we couldn’t see Mt Fuji because it was cloudy, but we could imagine it being a lovely view when you do see it. For the amount of money we paid we expected a bit more in what they provide. For example, having some bath minerals would have been nice. We couldn’t get breakfast or dinner, but that wasn’t the fault of the hotel or staff, and we understood the situation. There were a lot of miscommunications with our reservation that made it confusing. In the end we didn’t get any compensation, even though they said they would at the beginning. It is what it is, though, and we enjoyed ourselves.

The room was spacious, well decorated, new, and had a great bathtub on the balcony. The only downside was that the hotel was far away and the restaurant wasn’t open for breakfast or dinner; despite the staff trying to compensate with a transfer, it remained a negative point.
