The Hotel Knöpel in Wismar is a welcoming hotel, 10 minutes from historic Market Square. Occupying a renovated villa, it offers spacious rooms and suites, some with balconies. The hotel features free WiFi, a breakfast buffet, garden terrace, barbecue corner, and bicycle rental. It's 20 minutes from Alter Hafen Port and Wonnemar Adventure Pool.

The accommodation is relatively central, so you can reach Wismar’s centre quickly and enjoy a variety of cultural and culinary offerings; check‑in went smoothly via code, parking is available behind the building, and the price‑performance ratio is very good. The hotel used to be an old villa that was pragmatically converted, our room was large, bright and quiet, even though some stylistic compromises had to be accepted.

The proximity to the old town and free parking were positives, but in a Gründerzeit villa bathrooms were installed in the rooms without windows—today that’s not a problem, yet the hotel staff should ensure all ceiling and wall lamps are lit. Also, the beds do not need to be made for a three‑night stay, but the trash bins should be emptied once.

The room was spacious and comfortable for two people to move around freely, but the bathroom urgently needs a complete overhaul: the lights by the mirror do nothing, the spot over the door is broken, the toilet seat and bowl are loose, and the fan didn’t work.
