I stayed in room 1307, right next to Pão de Açúcar supermarket, bakeries, and the train station. The shower had plenty of water pressure and separate hot and cold taps. The mattress and pillow were comfortable. A valet parks your car and will retrieve it for you if you need to leave. However, if you don’t book directly through the hotel, they won’t help you! The listing claimed a hair dryer was in the room, but it was missing, and the front desk told me to send a message through the Booking app to resolve it (which never happened). Personal hygiene items were lacking, and the same response applied to requests for fresh towels and sheets; the sheets were scratched and stained. The only thing the hotel actually fixed was a broken toilet; otherwise, the answer was always to contact the Booking app. The bedside lamp didn’t work, there were few kitchen utensils, the outlets were old, the bathroom mirror bracket was broken, and check‑in took a long time.

“Decepcionante”

I didn’t like anything about this place that’s supposedly a Mercure. The facilities were in bad shape and worn out; the sink was clogged, the utensils were old, the furniture was outdated, the bed had a worn mattress, the TV wouldn’t turn on, and all the room outlets were broken.

“Frustrante e estressante”

I liked the location, but I was surprised to find that breakfast wasn’t included, even though I filtered for hotels with breakfast. It was my first trip with my stepchildren, who were expecting a hotel breakfast. The room also had several maintenance issues. One of the strangest problems was a makeshift toilet that fell apart on first use, and we had to deal with the existing hack right when we arrived. The floor had holes where electrical outlets should be, which is not only ugly but also dangerous. The iron in the room didn’t fit any outlet. Finally, the blankets were dirty and stored improperly. I spoke with a staff member who listened to all my complaints but did nothing about them.
