“Uphauling stay”
The location is gorgeous, but the hotel and rooms feel like a 50‑year‑old property. The shower was awful, the beds were terrible, and overall it was a huge letdown. I’ve stayed here over five times before, paying a fair price, but this time I felt completely cheated out of my money. The unit felt like a 50‑year‑old premise. The wooden floors were wobbly, the air smelled dusky, carpets and furniture were worn, beds were uncomfortable, wooden furniture smelled bad, and the shower was a disaster—no proper shower head like in other units I’ve stayed in. Water from faucets was brown and dirty. The shower flow was erratic; my 7‑year‑old daughter was scalded and partially burnt when the cold water stopped mid‑shower. I was stunned by the poor quality, yet I was charged 2.5 to 3 times the normal rate because it was peak school‑holiday season in South Africa, which I agreed to pay upfront. Unit 4 is misrepresented on your site and should not be offered to the public until properly refurbished. I had no other options because the resort was fully booked and the contract had a non‑refundable clause, so even if I complained, nothing could be done. On Saturday 27/09/26 I went for a swim at the pool and ocean, and when I returned there was no hot water at 5 pm. I thought the geysers were exhausted from high occupancy and waited an hour or two for water to heat up. By 7 pm the shower and basin taps were still cold. I ran it for 10 minutes and it stayed cold. I reported this to the night manager Vusi, who came to my unit and confirmed the same. He checked the power supply to the geysers, which were fine.
