The food was good, but we had no hot water during our two‑day stay. We knew the power was off and a generator was running, yet the scheduled times for hot water never worked.

The setting and vistas are beyond words; the lodge itself is gorgeous, staff are super friendly and helpful, and the food is amazing. I did some local hikes and the scenery blew me away! Quick heads‑up: take the road from the Rhodes side, NOT from Maclear! Fantastic stay, thanks a lot.

The meals were excellent, a big improvement from my last visit when the chef was on leave. Frustrating hot‑water issues, but I get it’s due to Eskom lines damaged by snow. The road to Tenahead is much worse than six years ago, with barely any maintenance.

The view is incredible, and the remoteness adds to the charm. It’s a small lodge with only a few rooms, which makes the stay feel exclusive.
