I was impressed by how much effort went into the homemade breakfasts and meals; the staff were very accommodating. I would recommend this cottage.

We received a warm welcome, enjoyed refined cuisine made from local, homemade ingredients, and found the room spacious and the house very pleasant.

We were greeted outside the stately stone country villa, Maison Pechauzi, by our English‑speaking hosts, Jon and Liz, and their friendly black Labrador, Alfie; stepping inside, the air was filled with cooking aromas and we were led to our bright, high‑ceilinged bedroom with stunning views of the surrounding countryside, overlooking the medieval hill town of _Castelnau de Montmiral. We also booked a prix fixe dinner prepared by Liz from locally sourced ingredients, including home‑smoked trout and ham from Jon’s large smoker; it was one of the most magnificent meals we have ever had in France—delicious, elegant, imaginative—and served in a graceful dining area that doubles as a solarium and gallery of botanical drawings. The next morning’s breakfast, included with the lodging, was generous and excellent, served in the dining room and solarium, where we reluctantly prepared ourselves to leave. We’re already planning our next visit!
