Ipanema Beach Hostel

Ian treated us superbly and was very friendly during our last hours there; however, the cleaning was done very late.

The experience was great! I booked 1 hostel and got 3; the synergy between them is excellent, they met my expectations, and the staff and volunteers clearly enjoy what they do – this changes the game.

The staff, especially Ian and the cleaning crew, were very attentive and helpful throughout my stay.

“Four days, countless stories”

I had an absolutely amazing stay! The location is definitely one of its biggest strengths, but what really made my experience unforgettable was the incredible amount of activities they organize. Everyone I met was traveling solo, which made it so easy to connect. I ended up finding an amazing group of friends, and together we spent four unforgettable days in Rio. Even with the rain and some activities being cancelled, there was always something to do and someone to hang out with. The atmosphere was simply perfect for meeting people and making memories. I honestly can’t wait to come back! And, as if the trip couldn’t have been better, I even found my Brazilian twin! 😂🇧🇷 Lavatories in the dorms should be cleaned more than once per day; sand and dirt were all over the place by 2 pm.

The place sits in a great spot, loads of activities nearby, and there’s a Caipirinha hour at the sister hostel opposite; the rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable. I wish there were bathrooms outside the rooms and another common area that felt cozier.
