The place felt grand and was cheap, and it was mostly quiet. The kitchen was available but I didn’t use it. On Sunday the Duck In The Pond pub offered breakfast, but not on Monday, though they did serve other meals. The distance from underground stations was a problem and I wasn’t familiar with the local bus routes. I disliked having to use a lockbox for the front‑door key, which was shared with every other guest – a keypad lock would have been better. The bedroom carpet was dirty and laminate flooring would have been preferable. The extractor fan in the upstairs communal toilet didn’t work and there was no window. The Saniflo pump at the back of the toilet sometimes failed after flushing and made noise. In the communal shower, which was clean overall, there was a clump of long hair left by another guest; I had to pick it up and flush it because there were no bins in the shower, toilet, or my room – the only bin was in the kitchen. Empty shampoo and shower gel bottles, a used razor blade, and an empty soap wrapper were left in the shower for the two days I stayed. The lever on the wash basin tap was broken but still usable. One guest was noisy, knocking on other guests’ doors at night after his room’s contents were stolen, and he hadn’t locked his door.

Everything about the property looks good except a few things. The heaters weren’t working, the owner’s response was poor, and the bathroom glass doors broke.

Nothing good at all. The place was dirty, the shower was full of hair, I stayed one night and left. I would have slept in a skip instead – DONT STAY THERE!!!! I asked for a refund and got nothing.

The price is a bit cheaper than everywhere else, but it’s not good value for money. The bedding smelled a lot and there were hairs everywhere. The shower and wash basin were blocked with hairs.
