I had an amazing interaction with the front desk at check‑in and check‑out. The only downside was that my son was disappointed the pool was closed. Other than that this hotel met all my expectations.

The Holiday Inn Express Waldorf features free Wi-Fi, an indoor pool, and daily hot continental breakfast. Rooms have cable TV, microwaves, refrigerators, and work desks. Guests can use the fitness centre, laundry facilities, and 24-hour front desk. Located near Andrews Air Force Base, it's close to Capital Clubhouse and Regent Furniture Stadium, home of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs baseball team.

The bed was comfortable. The problem was that other people kept coming into my room all night and the next morning because they forgot to charge me for the room and only took the incidental fee.

The room was large, the bed was nice and comfortable. I loved the breakfast.

I’ve never written a bad hotel review before, but this stay forced me to. We booked the hotel for my sister’s wedding and had to change rooms twice. The first two rooms smelled like cigarettes and cat pee. The third smelled clean, but there was sticky drink or something all over the foyer floor that I had to clean up—definitely not what you want after a 5‑hour car ride. The bathroom curtain had never been cleaned or changed, and the shower made a high‑pitched screech that woke my kids when I showered in the morning. Every person who showered had to endure that noise, which was a terrible way to start the day. My elderly grandmother chose a king room for herself in the same hotel, but when we walked in the bed was unmade, trash was on the floor, and the ironing board and iron were out. It had not been cleaned. They moved her to a double room that smelled terrible like cat pee, but she was too tired to move again, so she just endured. To top it off, my kids were excited to swim, which is why I chose this hotel because of the indoor pool. We were told the pool was not open and would stay closed for the duration of our stay. The kids were so disappointed they cried. It was a horrible stay and I can’t believe we had to pay almost $200 for one night. I’ve stayed in much nicer hotels for much less. I usually am happy with Holiday Inn, but this time I cannot. We will not be returning. The young man behind the counter was really nice, but that did not make up for the poor conditions.

The staff were friendly and the place was spotless, so there’s really nothing to complain about.
