Phoenix Rising is a very special place. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, and we loved Julian as our host. He went above and beyond to help my group and ensure we had everything we needed, suggesting local events that only residents would know about, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Being so close to the Tor adds to its uniqueness.

Julian was an exceptional, generous, and very friendly host. My wife and I couldn't recommend our stay more highly. We definitely plan to visit again in the future.

It’s a quirky place to stay, but refreshingly so. The location is excellent, at the foot of the Tor, and close to the town. There's a relaxed atmosphere, and while breakfast is a do‑it‑yourself affair the fact that you can actually bring your own food and cook whenever adds to the sense of feeling part of something. Nothing to dislike.

The spot was spot on, the bed was super comfy and the shower felt powerful. I appreciated being able to grab breakfast in the dining room and having a kitchen to use. Parking was a hassle at first because other guests took more than one spot, but it cleared up once a car left.
