“Recoomandé”
The charm of the place, the breakfast, and the welcome were all positive. Nothing negative.
The stay completely surpassed our expectations – the hosts were genuinely kind and generous, and we felt lucky to be welcomed into their beautiful home, like a fairytale. With August’s heat, the room’s air conditioning was a relief. Breakfast was an incredible spread, better than a 5‑star hotel. The location was perfect for exploring Chinon. It was unforgettable – the highlight of our trip. I can’t recommend it enough and would book again without hesitation.

The stay was perfect, with a lovely welcome, a uniquely decorated home, an absolutely charming host, and a sumptuous breakfast.

The room was very spacious and pretty with air conditioning. The lunch was excellent, served in fine silverware and off the beaten path. The owner, who had allowed my friend to take photos and act as if it were our own place (he said that!), suddenly turned hostile and drove us away with vigor. He’s a moody character; be careful not to take his words at face value.

The place is stunning, truly out of the ordinary, and the location is ideal—very quiet, right next to the Rabelais Museum and a few minutes from Chinon. Hosts Maud and Daniel are extremely friendly and give a warm welcome. Breakfast is a model of the genre: delicious, refined, served in an area full of art objects and curiosities – a real pleasure. I highly recommend it! Note: the slope to the parking area is steep, and the staircase to the room is also steep, so consider this for anyone with walking difficulties.
