The lodge sits right on the park, and from the terrace you can see the lake, which is lovely. It’s positioned between Ambleside and Windermere, making it easy to get around. Inside it’s clean and tidy, and the size is just right for four of us – two adults and two kids – with beds that were really comfy. On the downside, the exterior could use a clean‑up, the toilet seat is loose or broken, the toaster isn’t working properly and needs replacing, and the swimming pool isn’t included in the booking – they’d charge £15 per person for the whole stay.
“Memorable”
The location, the view, and the interior were all of a good standard. The only issue was that the patio doors were a bit difficult to open in warm weather.

The facilities and equipment are good, with Bluetooth speakers in the rooms and a location near the lakeside. We couldn’t swim in the lake because it’s a protected marina, there was a dog mess on the shore, and the swimming pool isn’t free.
