I booked a pet-friendly room and the owner said it was a separate zone, but the view was the same as the one I booked. Instead I found a room in the hallway, the window looked only at the hallway, the house was old timber, the door wouldn’t close, the bedside lamp was broken and the owner wouldn’t replace it. I asked to move rooms and they wouldn’t charge extra. In the end I cancelled and got half the money back, claiming I had informed them, but the explanation was that the river view was still the same even with the pet zone. It was good that I didn’t book two rooms with family, because that would have been worse. I went back once more and met the lovely owner who spoke kindly. When I asked why I was canceling, we talked and the owner’s mother said you should pay a little extra to get the river view, because the room we got didn’t have it. She recorded a clip of herself saying that the room we got didn’t have the river view. If the mother had known earlier, she wouldn’t have been so upset. The customer didn’t get any discount.
