The riad sits in a fantastic spot, close to everything yet in a quiet part of the Medina. Its rooftop terrace is amazing for breakfast and watching sunsets.

The riad is charming and very well located, just steps from the Medina and the beach. The terrace with ocean view is gorgeous, especially at breakfast. The staff are very welcoming and attentive, and the room was clean and comfortable. The only minor issue was a bit of street noise late in the day, but that’s part of the Medina’s charm.

We took the CTM bus from Casablanca to Essaouira; getting off was a bit tough for a taxi, but they’re not expensive and you just need patience. Following the host’s directions, it was fairly easy to find, right in the old town, though the alley was a bit hidden and we missed the signboard, which cost us some time. The guesthouse matched the Moroccan courtyard style; our room was quite large, with three beds, so the family of three didn’t disturb each other, and the bathroom was also large, basically separating wet and dry areas. It’s very close to the sea, and the rooftop terrace offers a view of the Atlantic; Essaouira is windy and sunny, but evenings in summer are very comfortable, incredibly cool. The breakfast was plentiful; we ate on the terrace, feeling the sea breeze and listening to seagulls, which was very pleasant. The host was a bit stern, but overall a nice person. I loved Essaouira during my 15‑day trip to Morocco.

The room was very spacious and the bathroom was comfortable and functional. The terrace is beautiful and a great place to stay and relax. You can’t pay with a credit card.
