The GEM Museum Suites

I loved everything about the Gem.from the location, the gardens, to the beautiful and vintage decor, overall the excelent and kind customer service ( front desk and dining ). I arrived at 5 am, my check in was pretty late in the afternoon, they kept my luggage, and even let me have a complementary breakfast, before check in. The room has everything you need. If I ever go back to Chicago The Gem will be my stay.The Gem Museum suites is a real 💯 gem!. The late check in.4 pm

“Crappy room - decent location”

The staff was nice, the lobby beautiful, and the location great. The room was sad. We had hair on our shower head, mold on the shower curtain, and stains on the towels. The room was a lot tinier than expected. There is no temperature control in the room, so it was hot during summer.

“Would stay here again for all the positives.”

I stayed in a room that was practically a whole apartment, sparkling clean and perfect for a long stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and parking was convenient. Breakfast was good and included. However, the full‑size beds felt small, and there was noise from cicadas and other guests, especially above and near the elevators. At over $300 per night, the price was a bit high, which slightly lowered the value proposition.

“Great stay in a well designed and maintained location”

Breakfast was decent, though not very creative, and the chafing dishes were awkwardly set up, so you needed someone to hold the lids while you served. There was hardly any space to set down your plate and use both hands. The staff were great, very attentive and helpful. The building was clean and had fun decorations. The room we stayed in was also great, featuring a kitchenette, a small dining area, a couch, a TV, a bedroom, and a bathroom. The only issue was that the bathroom door in room 404 doesn’t close all the way; it just doesn’t fit properly. Otherwise, everything worked well.

“nice stay except the wifi speed.”

Parking was excellent, with spots always available. The internet was really slow, and when I asked the staff, they said there was nothing they could do. Breakfast was the same every day; changing the style every other day would improve the service.
