The Hotel Deutschherrenhof is a cosy hotel located 200 metres from Trier's pedestrian area, Old Town, and historic Porta Nigra gate. Rooms feature cable TV, free broadband internet, telephone, and minibar. The hotel offers free WiFi, newly renovated bathrooms, and a buffet breakfast. It's close to vineyards, the Moselle promenade, and harbour, with easy access to Eifel mountains, Hunsrück forests, Luxembourg, and France.

The room was small but clean, and the breakfast was good.

The reception was friendly, the room clean, there was a kettle, and the hotel was 500 m from the pedestrian zone and 500 m from Porta Negra. Contrary to the description, there was no minibar in the room; neither the bathroom nor the room was modern or newly renovated. The small bottle of water in the room cost €2.50, and you pay if you don’t pay attention. There is no parking at the hotel, only a parking garage 500 m away. The shower/ toilet drain does not work, the bathroom is very cramped, as is the shower, and a pile of linens in the stairwell forced me to climb over it with my suitcase.

The location was very good and the staff extremely friendly. Parking was outside the hotel. The breakfast was fine. The room was basic, the bed very soft, and the bathroom small but fully equipped.

The rooms and breakfast were fine, but the bed pillows were a bit disappointing.
