The accommodation offered a beautiful view, and we thought the location was excellent because it was close to nature, surrounded by trees and wildlife; the bed was very comfortable, breakfasts were tasty and large with fresh juice, the staff were very friendly and always smiling, the room was clean, the bathroom had hot water, and there were amenities like a kettle, tea, and coffee.

The view from the hotel is absolutely breathtaking; every morning you open the window or step onto the balcony and just get lost in the scenery—photos can’t capture the sheer beauty. The food is delicious, with a homemade feel that shows genuine care; breakfasts and dinners are finger‑licking good, portions are generous, everything is fresh, and there are plenty of options. Cleanliness is flawless—room is spotless, linens feel crisp, and the bathroom shows no trace of water. The owner is a marvel, a person with a big heart who feels like a close friend, helping with transfers, tours, and advice, and it’s obvious he loves his work and his guests, creating a home‑away‑from‑home vibe. I didn’t want to leave this wonderful place.

Staying at Urban Roots Lodge was fantastic; the hosts greeted us warmly and were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room looked stunning with a gorgeous view of Little Adam’s Peak, and the terrace was ideal for unwinding. The setting is quiet and perfect for hiking and exploring Ella. Everything was spotless, the bed was super comfy, and breakfast was tasty. We felt fully taken care of and would gladly return. Highly recommended!

The spot is gorgeous, with a lovely balcony offering a beautiful view. The bed is comfortable, and you can watch the sunrise over the mountains from your room. The restaurant next to the property is super tasty! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only downside is that the accommodation could have been cleaner, especially in the bathroom, and there were stains on the sheets. Insects occasionally come in, but that’s understandable since you’re right in the middle of nature.

The views were incredible, visible from the bed, which was comfortable and had plenty of pillows. The shower water was hot, which is unusual in Sri Lanka. The staff were very kind and helpful. The price was fair for what it offered. To reach the facility you have to walk down a cobbled path that can be slippery if you don’t step carefully. The cleaning was somewhat lacking, with a towel that had stains. Breakfast was typical of the country but somewhat poor, lacking fruit and juice.
