The setting is quiet and close to a river, with no noise pollution, and the bed was clean and comfortable. Housekeeping tidied rooms and bathrooms every day, and the free Wi‑Fi was decent. The only drawback is that it’s very far from the city, so having your own car is essential, especially during the monsoon.

I usually don’t write negative reviews, but my stay at The Hosteller Old Goa was so disappointing that I feel future guests should know. The property clearly suffers from poor maintenance and management. During my visit I ran into several problems: the place was dirty, facilities were poorly kept, and overall it felt like the hostel wasn’t being run properly. Instead of enjoying my time, I spent it fixing avoidable issues. Communication with staff was inconsistent; many concerns were raised but hardly any improvement happened. After I left, I even sent detailed feedback directly to management hoping they’d address the problems, but the overall impression remained one of neglect rather than genuine concern for guests. The location has potential, but that alone isn’t enough. A hostel should offer a clean, safe, comfortable, and well‑maintained environment, and this property currently falls far below that standard. I sincerely hope management takes guest feedback seriously and invests in better maintenance, cleanliness, and overall quality. Until then, I cannot recommend staying here.

I had a fantastic stay at this hostel. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. A highlight was the balcony, which was a great spot to relax and unwind. The air conditioning worked perfectly, keeping the place pleasant even when it was warm. The restroom was well‑maintained, hygienic, and stocked with all the essentials. Parking was convenient and hassle‑free. Overall, the property offers excellent value for money with good amenities and a comfortable atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.
