The location is great with plenty of dining options and a market close by, and getting to and from Schiphol and throughout Amsterdam is a breeze. The room was very basic, but the bed was comfortable. The building is old and the walls are thin, so it can get incredibly noisy and you can hear other guests.

The accommodation was spotless and the breakfast was more than enough. The center is 2.2 km away, but walking there is easy because there’s plenty to explore. Shops, cafés and restaurants are right nearby, and the metro and bus stop are within a short walk. The stairs to the upper floors are very narrow, which can be a challenge for older or disabled guests and requires some getting used to.

The staff were all friendly and obliging, even carried my bag up to the fourth floor. Breakfast was a good time to meet other guests. Unfortunately my wife and I were booked in a room on the top floor, and at 80, we found it hard work going up and down the typical Amsterdam steep stairs! Next time we will request a lower floor.

The breakfast was varied and tasty. Even though there was no meat, I wasn’t disappointed. The room is well insulated and the beds were comfortable and kept me warm. The staff were helpful and understanding. Overall, the environment is very relaxed and unstructured.

We had wonderful days in Amsterdam, and staying at the Bicycle Hotel made the experience even sweeter. The hotel feels cozy, well‑maintained, and has a super pleasant atmosphere. We booked a room for three with a private bathroom and it was excellent. The beds were very comfortable, the shower had great pressure, and overall the facilities met our needs. Everything was clean and organized. The breakfast deserves special mention – it was lovingly prepared and served well to start the day. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. My parents, who didn’t speak English, were treated with extra care; the team always found a way to help them feel at ease, which made a big difference. The location is also superb – we were in a lovely area with easy access to explore Amsterdam and plenty of restaurants, cafés and markets nearby, making city exploration convenient. One note for future guests: the typical Dutch narrow, steep stairs – we were on the third floor, but it was absolutely fine even for my parents who are 65+. It became part of the Amsterdam experience for us. We definitely recommend the Bicycle Hotel and would stay there again. It was a very special experience that made our trip even more enjoyable.
