“A light hearted high street townhouse with a huge welcome and stunning breakfast.”
Staying in the artist’s home was a delight, from the quirky artwork and room décor to the vibrant colours and carefully curated breakfast spread. There were plenty of food options that complemented the artistic vibe, and the friendly dogs—one even wearing a kilt—added to the fun. The only drawback was that our room in the eaves had limited headroom, though the bed was comfortable. We shared a bathroom with another room, but we were told about this beforehand, so it was fair enough.

The host was warm and friendly, the breakfast excellent, and the room was clean and comfortable with a good shower that was perfect after a day of walking. The location was ideal for strolling either the forest or the coastline. The shower screen was a bit awkward, but that was a minor detail.

What a lovely place to stay. We were warmly welcomed by Mandy, and the décor was fabulous, quirky, and thoughtfully arranged, with artwork everywhere. The breakfasts were delicious—probably the best we’ve ever had. We loved it and definitely plan to come back.
The breakfast was super extensive and great, and we were allowed to park our motorcycles in the garage. The owner was very friendly.

Everything about our stay at The Art Bank was wonderful, largely thanks to our host Mandy. Her genuine care for making our visit easy, relaxed, and enjoyable was evident in every detail. We loved meeting such an interesting and creative host who was relaxed yet attentive to the little things that matter. The breakfasts were luxurious, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. Both the house and our room were great, and we loved the vibe. The central Dalbeattie location was just right for us. This stay was a joy, and we would gladly return. Thank you, Mandy!
