Ta' Karkar Villa Bed and Breakfast

Tony is one of the kindest hosts we’ve met on our travels; he always ensures guests feel at home, so we relaxed for four nights in a cozy room with a good breakfast and pool. The spot is decent, quiet, and reachable by car, bike or bus to anywhere on Gozo, and the Ggantija Temples are just around the corner. We especially liked that Tony let us use his washing machine for laundry.

We had a great stay in a traditional Maltese house with a beautiful pool. The location is excellent, getting to various beaches is quick, and owner Tony is very helpful, creating a pleasant house atmosphere.

The highlight of our two‑day stay was the amazing pool, which made the villa even more enjoyable. The air conditioning worked perfectly, especially after spending time outside, and the room was very spacious. The location was great, right in the centre of Gozo, making it convenient for getting around and exploring the island. We also used the washing machine, which was very handy. However, the pictures showed a small refrigerator in the room, but none was actually there. Breakfast was very simple—just toast and a cup of tea—and it would have been better if photos or a clear description were provided so guests know what to expect. The biggest problem was the mattress: it was extremely soft and uncomfortable, sinking under you and making it hard to sleep.

“Nice accommodation in a convenient location.”

The location is good, the room and bed are a decent size, there’s a swimming pool, great views, and the host is friendly. The breakfast was basic.

The owner is very helpful and the place is lovely, especially the pool area, but some aspects could improve: the towels were very old and breakfast was very basic—no eggs, no sausages, just bread, cheese, and coffee.
