Situated 23 km from the Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre, 13 km from the Rock of Dunamaise, and 8 km from Portarlington Golf Club, it provides easy access to historic sites and leisure activities while remaining a peaceful retreat.

Shirley greeted me warmly and the place was impeccably clean and tidy; the room was roomy and the downstairs kitchen was fully equipped with great amenities. The only downside was that it felt a little far from Portlaoise.

The overall vibe was cool, the staff were super friendly, and the place was very clean—overall a great spot. I woke up at 6 am and there was no hot water in the shower.

Shirley and Martin welcomed us with friendliness, and the Barn’s shared areas had a quirky vibe; our room was cozy, comfortable, and clean. The kitchen had good amenities, though the cooker was marked as non‑working. An embarrassing incident involving an international visitor was handled sensitively and well when I reported it. Thank you. The only issue was that it’s a car drive from anywhere, which is doable, but long‑term residents expect guests to observe quiet hours from 11 pm to 7 am, even before and after those times.
