“An absolute gem of a pub with rooms - faultless”

The room was roomy, comfortable, and a good deal; towels matched those of any 5‑star hotel. Breakfasts were fantastic, especially the porridge, which was huge, delicious, and surprisingly light—perfect for a day of exploring. Dinner meals were equally generous, tasty, and well worth the price, with hearty pub fare that was fresh and piping hot. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always ready to help. The weekend exceeded our expectations given the room rate with breakfast. Nothing was wrong; the only point to note is that parking is on the street, which isn’t a problem but is worth mentioning.

“Was a lovely room nice and cozy.”

The chef was amazing, but the green exit light illuminated the entire room, so we had to use eye masks to sleep. The TV was on a Wi‑Fi setting, so we couldn’t really watch due to a poor connection. The head of house, a blonde lady, was somewhat abrupt and not very welcoming, though the rest of the staff were great.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, especially when they gave me a solid whisky education. The room and all public spaces were spotless, tidy, and tastefully decorated. I’d definitely book dinner in advance.
