The spot was great and the scenery was nice, but we were swarmed by mosquitoes and couldn’t sleep because there was no air conditioning, even in the cold season, and only a fan. The host offered a mosquito net after we left a day early, but it was too late and we already had a nightmare of insects crawling through the open roof.

The stay was affordable and close to the San Ramón waterfall trail. The bed was comfortable, and there was a small shop and restaurant on site. However, the hotel only accepted cash, even though the booking site said otherwise. We had no running water for the duration of our stay and no electricity by morning. Gaps between the walls and roof let insects in, and the walls were so thin that we could hear neighbors before 6 am.

We spent four nights there, and the owner was lovely. The pebble beach right at the doorstep was great, and the food from the restaurant was delicious. We were also allowed to use the kitchen to prepare our own meals, which was a big plus. The location was a bit off the beaten path, which made for a quiet stay.
