Located within the World Heritage Site of the ancient Laurissilva Forests, Estalagem do Vale is a restored 18th-century manor house overlooking São Vicente's valleys. The hotel features a heated pool, wellness facilities, and a traditional restaurant serving North coast of Madeira cuisine. Air-conditioned rooms offer satellite TV, work desks, and some feature balconies or traditional dark wooden decor.

The hotel is close to several tours, but the room’s ventilation is missing and it smells like sewage. The restaurant’s promised fish dish ran out, they didn’t prepare enough portions, and we ended up eating meat that was really not tasty.

The staff are really good, especially Joaquin, who is the best. The place is nice, but it isn’t a 4‑star hotel; most things are old and quite tired.

The location is beautiful and the staff were kind—our flight got cancelled so we needed a hotel fast, we arrived at midnight and they waited for us. The breakfast selection was good, though the bed was high for me but still comfortable.

Prima kamer met lekkere zachte dekens, mooie omgeving, mooie tuin, lief personeel, leuke hotelkat genaamd oscar, prima zwembad op mooi gelegen plek. Hotelkamer was schoon. Badkamer had dikke zachte handdoeken. Hotel heeft flink wat achterstallig onderhoud. Het ziet er geleefd uit. Muren zitten op bepaalde plekken wel vol met vocht. De mini midgetgolf is niet bespeelbaar door waterplekken en viezigheid. Het ontbijt is in het weekend tot 11 uur maar begint om 1015 al met opruimen
