The hotel keeps that old‑school vibe—charming and cozy. Parking was a bit of a hassle.
“The best place to stay with your dog and your husband!”
The best place to stay if you have a dog! Parking is limited, so the staff suggested we park about 2 blocks out in a residential area. The weather was nice, so that didn’t bother us.

The rooms were comfortable and charming, and the staff were nice and helpful.

We’ve been coming to Carmel for the last half dozen visits and always stay at the Cypress Inn; it sits right in the center, so everything’s within walking distance. We bring our poodle every time and the place is super dog friendly. I appreciate the character and history of the building. The only thing that could have been better was the bathroom; a few more shelves around the sink would have helped, but I understand there’s only so much that can be done.

The location was fantastic. The room was so loud that you could hear the elevator, dogs barking, and people talking inside; it made sleeping difficult.
